Overview

How Denver neighborhoods compare

Denver's 78 official neighborhoods vary enormously in reported crime. In general, the residential southeast and south-central neighborhoods — Washington Park, Cory-Merrill, University, Hilltop and Cherry Creek — grade among the safest, while higher reported crime tends to concentrate downtown and along commercial corridors such as East Colfax, Five Points, Capitol Hill, and the Globeville-Elyria-Swansea area. The rankings below are based on each area's overall crime score; use them as a starting point and always check the specific blocks you care about on the crime map.
